 </b>\n\nThis workshop will introduce grant-writing to nonprofit profession
 als who have less than one year of experience with the skill. Many people 
 who work in nonprofits find themselves in the position of “accidental gran
 t-writer” and do not feel fully equipped for the challenge. This session w
 ill provide a balance of applicable content and resources to deepen partic
 ipants’ knowledge of and skills in grant-writing.\n\nParticipants will hav
 e an opportunity to learn about the basics of grant-seeking. This session 
 will dig into the basic elements of foundation research and grant planning
 . This is a beginner-level workshop.\n\n<b>Learning Objectives</b>\n <ul><
 li>Deepen your understanding about the Minnesota funding landscape.</li>\n
 <li>Learn about the types of foundations providing grants to Minnesota’s n
 onprofits.</li>\n<li>Develop an understanding of the sections of a grant p
 roposal including budgeting and evaluation.</li>\n<li>Workshop participant
 s will receive a copy of the Handbook for Successful Grantwriting that cov
 ers topics ranging from research and planning to a glossary of commonly us
 ed terms. The Handbook is only available to participants and is not otherw
 ise for sale.</li>\n\n</ul><b>Technology Requirements</b>\nThis training i
 s hosted in Adobe Connect. You will need a computer with a reliable high-s
 peed internet connection to participate in the training. (While Adobe Conn
 ect does have a mobile app\, its functionality is limited and does not sup
 port all the engagement tools that we use during virtual trainings. Theref
 ore\, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits does not recommend using a smart
 phone or tablet to view the training.)\n\nAudio is available via your comp
 uter or your phone\; choose the audio connection that provides you with th
 e best sound quality. Please note: Using your computer for audio can somet
 imes negatively affect your experience\, particularly if your Wi-Fi signal
  is not strong or your broadband connection is slow. Therefore\, they high
 ly recommend that you have access to a phone which can serve as a back-up 
 audio method during the training. The Minnesota Council of Nonprofits cann
 ot issue refunds or reschedule the training for you if you are not prepare
 d with a back-up audio method (phone).
